HBO's (lack of) support for boxing is becoming a vicious circle.

The less money they provide, the worse the fights getting made are, which in turn makes them want to put less money in. Ever since they started cutting their budget, the levels of fights has plummeted.

You have to wonder what Peter Nelson is doing in all of this. I thought he was a boxing guy.

Doesn't help when they are paying fighters $2 mil to fight the likes of Dominic Wade and $850k to fight Brand.

Damn I feel sorry for David, you can be pretty sure he didnt want that kind of opponent.

Cristian Rios - Lost all rounds to Langford, has 19% ko ratio which is probably one of the lowest in Middleweight and has not a single win over a known opponent.

You add the coming junior middleweight fights (Charlo-Williams, and the likely afternoon broadcast for Demetrius Andrade, etc), Stevenson-Alvarez (likely to close out the year, with anticipation of Ward's pending free agency), the spillover of fights beyond what PBC can cover, and a pretty regular supply of fights through ShoBox, and I'm not sure what you're looking at.
I like ShoBox its cool but it seems like a lot of the big fights are happening on CBS or NBC these days. The fights that you mention are the only reason I'm holding on to Showtime hoping they happen. In boxing nothing is for certain until contracts are signed. A lot of fighters are fighting only once or twice a year, so the fights are few and far in between. I mean Danny Garcia hasn't fought since January and year is almost done.
