      Never happening again.

      Boxing used to be a sport to where if you wanted to fight with the best and be champion, you went to America. The best from all over the world came here to fight it out and see how was the best. Yes there were title fights abroad, but it was centralized here.

      That was a lifetime ago. Now boxing is a huge deal in many countries all over the world, and there is no international committee to oversee everything. And if there was, it would be just as corrupt as FIFA. There is no possibility of establishing a one-belt system with any sort of credibility.

      I would say what boxing needs is an end to the term world champion, because that doesnt exist anymore. I would argue that a real, respect USA championship belt would be the way to go. And have the USA champ go fight the Mexican champ, the Japanese champ, the English champ, etc.

      In my opinion, that would be a more honest representation of the best fighters in the world.
