I tend to agree in most western countries these weights have no f#cks given by fans. And like with womens boxing there tend to be more decisions & just less one punch KO's which fans love. Like it or not most boxing fans, hardcore or casual, & general sports fans wanna see KO's & love the potential of a fight ending at any moment which the lower weights offer less of. Its just the reality so it'd be smart if the western boxing world did drop those weights.
I think if boxing ever does take on any sort of league-like format this will happen. Like there would be a US/UK/Russia/East Euro/Mexico league with guys from 126 & up (11 divisions) & a Asiancentric league with guys from 122 down (6 divisions) & guys who happen to be from Mexico or the UK who weigh 115lbs might need to go to Japan to have a serious career & the Nobuhiro Ishida's of the world would need to come to the US or Mexico to have a serious career & largely that sorta stuff is happening now already, but I think if some sort of league like en****** came to be the lines between these realities would be clearer & more defined. Eh...just thinking out loud with that, but I think the sport would be better with something like this being how things worked.
