Maybe for a chance to fight in front of an American audience on American TV to get fans here more familiar with Povetkin before a potential Wilder fight. That's the only reason I see why they would want to fight here, Stiverne has virtually no fan base here.

We would rather go to Atlantic City.

This way you can have the entire tri state area, NY, NJ and PA go as well.

Going to CT is easy for NYC folks, but a lot tougher for PA and NJ, where there is a good amount of the Russian diaspora.

From the business side of it, AC is struggling, and will be far easier to do business with when you have multiple casinos fighting for it.

I would actually not be surprised if Ryabinski works with Duva on this one. He mentioned it in an interview before that he was open to it.

By having Povetkin KO Stiverne here in the United States... even if it means making less money, it is instant credibility and just makes Wilder look worse.
