    My thoughts on Danny Garcia

I have mixed feelings about him. I like him as a fighter very much, but I also hate him because he's constantly favored by the scoring judges and he was gifted 2 or maybe 3 fights that he didn't deserve to win. EDIT: In fact I forgot to mention the main reason I hate him is because he became a cherry picker. His resume is overrated kind of like Floyd's because he won against most of the bigger names when they were past their primes (Morales 2 times, Judah, Holt, Cambel) except Matthysse who I like very much but but was never a an A level fighter. However it was a great win and I must say he impressed me the way he fought the second half of that fight. I saw him for the first and the last time doing what he should - he used his feet very well. It made me think he's capable of boxing smart but he may not have a high ring IQ to do it often. Oh in fact he showed some good counter-punching and movement against Guerrero but only IN SPURTS. If he wasn't that cement footed he may be much better, he reminds me of Canelo in that way.

Please don't go off topic, thanks.

Add in the fact it seems he has no interest in fighting any good anytime soon. Malignnagi, Guerrero and now supposedly Berto is laughable

to be fair he was a huge underdog against holt and lucas. I used to not like danny in the past now I'm like mehhh since he is basically a nobody at 147 he's living off the hype of 140 danny garcia.

No more Paulies and Guerreros. He is now accustomed to WW.

I wouldn't mind a Khan rematch either, Khan might last longer this time.

              Angel Garcia:

"After we're done with Malignaggi, we'll fight whoever," stated the trainer. "We never said no to nobody. Danny faced killers, just look at the resume, even before we got big, we had Shelly Finkel as our manager, and Shelly didn't make it easy."

Brooklyn, New York - The criticism for Danny Garcia (30-0, 17 KO’s) has been plentiful since his controversial decision victory over Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico early last year. It didn’t help matters that he fought an unranked lightweight in Rod Salka at a catch-weight of 142 pounds. This past April he won a decision over Lamont Peterson at a catch-weight of 143 pounds, in a bout many thought he lost as well.

I was one of those people who thought Matthysse would kill him in like 6. I was also one of the people who came forward and said "holy schit, I was wrong. Enjoying my crow." However since then he hasn't done jack.

I'm of the belief that he fights one level above his opponents so he doesn't look amazing when he fights low level guys but he is a talented boxer. However his opposition just leaves so much to be desired. And the worst part is it's not even like he's an avoided fighter, he just seems fine fighting the 2nd tier and getting paid.

Garcia became the name he is because he beat Khan and did so in a great fight. Breating Matthysse just elevated his stock (I was one of the few who thought he'd beat Matt). Since that string of wins, Garcia has not looked as good in his fights or fought the best...or done both. I certainly believe he beat both Peterson (cheat who shouldnt even be fighting) and Harrera. Both were close.

The big issue is fights with guys like Salko or whatever that guys name was and all that inactivity, although I feel a lot of that is a combination of his ******ed father and a Haymon contract.

Yeah I see it the similar way, especially the bolded phrase.
