It's interesting how some fighters get a pass to show greatness in time, while others fight the best but that isn't enough to prove anything.

    Double standards.

The most probable scenario is that during the next 2 years Alvarez will lose again to lesser competition and that will be the end of his A-side vs B-side nonsense. Than the fight will be relatively easy to make, but the public demand will not be there at the level it is now.
Triple G needs to take that 2 million and may be just bluffing and acting like he won't take it, so that it can be offered to him. Take the 2 or 3 million, because he's not making that against any other fighter and then if he wins or it's an Epic war (win or lose), there's more money in the rematch. Of he wins again, he's the A-side at 160 until someone dethrones him.

Let me remind you that the leader of Team BS suggested a 90/10 split before lil ginger ducked

An opening position of 50/50 from a guy that has forced another to duck is entirely reasonable

But what about in his entire career?

Why do you feel it's ok for Golovkin to "prove it in time" but then think so little of what Ward has already proven and might prove still against Kovalev?

One guy has to jump through hoops for you to give even a small sliver of respect while the other guy has done nothing but you worship him because he might prove it eventually.

50/ 50 is a reasonable starting point for a negotiation. If you're expecting the other side to beat you down on the price you'd be silly to start off low. If he'd demanded to be paid more than Alvarez then you could argue he's trying to price himself out but at a guess I'd say he'd probably be happy with 30%.

It is a strange position for Golovkin to be in though. Expected to pay a premium to get lesser boxers in the ring with him despite his detractors joyfully pointing out that he doesn't bring enough money to the table to do so and yet expected to accept any offer from Alvarez regardless of the terms.
