Comments Thread For: HBO To Replay Canelo's Wins Over Cotto And Khan

As Saul Canelo' Alvarez returns to the weight where he claimed his first major title, HBO takes a look back at his brief tour as middleweight champion.

One week prior to Alvarez' challenge of unbeaten super welterweight titlist Liam Smith, HBO will replay his two most recent victories the historic win over Miguel Cotto to become the first-ever boxer from Mexico to win the lineal middleweight championship; and his rousing 6th round knockout of Amir Khan this past May.

Both bouts will air back-to-back on Friday, September 9 (12:00 am ET/PT) and Saturday, September 10 (9:15 am ET/PT) on HBO2.

They're replaying Canelo-Khan? That's so cool. They should replay Garcia-Salka as the lead-in! Call it "Legendary Duckers."

The only part HBO needs to replay from both those fights is at the end when Canelo says he's ready to fight Golovkin right now.

Yeah I know knocking out bums who are on house arrest like GGG is far more impressive then beating a hall of famer or a world champ. A GGG fanboy calling Canelo's competition weak ain't that the pot calling the kettle black.

A close win over an old Cotto and beat up Khan. Gift-Nelo has lost more than half of his fan based for deviating from GGG's bout. Is evident Oscar is protecting his cash revenue by making unknown people fight Gift-Nelo.

I wonder if HBO is rethinking the viability of bringing ****nelo back over from Showtime about now?
