Regarding Garcia-Matthyse, then lol at anyone who thought Matthysse would ever stand a chance at winning that fight.

Yes. It's a big risk. Losing to Floyd at 23 is respectable. Losing to Golovkin in the prime of his career is much more troublesome.

Also, people truly don't understand how big Canelo is. He was dehydrating to high 160s when he was a kid fighting at 147. His last 2 rumored rehydration weights in 2014 was 172 and 173. Right now he's close to entering his prime and his body is fully matured.. I would guess his fight night weight is around 175-178.

He's much heavier than his opponents. This advantage let's him not care that much about the power of his opponents, and all he has to focus on is out boxing his guy.

Fighting someone like Golovkin is a completely different from everything Canelo has done so far. It's gonna be the first opponent who can truly hurt him.

That's a good point I hadn't thought of. I'm on record here stating my belief that Canelo does have a good shot of beating GGG, especially (and I hate to go there) with the "favorable " judging he always gets in fights.
