Most ppl i knew of any color was rooting for Foreman over Morrison , i think actually Foreman was the most fan favored fighter in the 90's bc of his age and calm demeanor.
I actually think Golota ( though Polish) got more noteriety then Morrison ever did ,he was mainstream news and was on a few talk shows bc he beat up a dominant American HW in Bowe twice and even with a DQ . The HW's have almost always carried boxing who relied on American HW 's pre 2000's to have fans keep up and take interest in all weight classes ,boxing has only done as good as the HW division until recent times when it became more national so boxing doesnt relie on it as much . That being said American white HW's have never had an impact on boxing bc there was never a large majority there with the cable /internet eras ... so Arum is wrong and if anything more white fans will watch more despite if someone is european or not .
Some have stated that ppv and match making along with accessibility are the problems which are the correct answers .
My own opinion is its just a new age where younger generations will gravitate to the better fights ,and ppl also have to rember that Silva and Jones along with Rumble are not White 3 of the most exciting fighters and 2 regarded as the greatest UFC fighters of all time by the fans .Last edited by juggernaut666; 09-01-2016, 08:00 AM.Comment

Yet what white American HW's do we even have? Not counting Hispanics. The best white fighters are Euro or Russian. Most ppl i knew of any color was rooting for Foreman over Morrison , i think actually Foreman was the most fan favored fighter in the 90's bc of his age and calm demeanor.

I dont believe there is any now , the 80's and 90's had some .I think it would have a bit of impact today with internet but Arum is talking Boxing as a whole and an American white HW champion in itself isnt going to all of a sudden get all the White UFC fans , at the end of the day its about the fights not color as some think .
Ironically Trey Morrison is the best American white HW prospect around the corner who honestly i like and have conversed with but hes raw and will struggle against the elite Europeans without at least 90% of his fathers boxing skills of which he doesnt have and will somehow have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to attain .Comment

The amount of successful "white" American fighters has been dropping every decade.
They weren't having much success in boxing for sometime, so many may have decided to try MMA. The UFC, Pride, ISKA have had many successful "white" American fighters.....maybe their interest has dropped because not many of them are successful in pro boxing?Comment

That's why Whites (and their non-white flunkies) love GGG so much...even though he hasn't accomplished a single thing of note. The amount of successful "white" American fighters has been dropping every decade.

Nothing is wrong with liking who you like but, some have the balls to admit it, some don't.
Everyone gravitates to things or people they can relate to. Many americans are part-time patriots.
for example, Many of the "white" American fighters who root for the eastern European or soviet fighters even though their is an American of another ethnicity(any on for that matter) repping the USA.
Everyone has a part of them that wants to see someone like them, be successful. There hasn't been a lot of success in boxing so that's why a certain crop keep pushing "this boxing is dead" mantra, while it is alive and well in mexico, asia, UK, Caribbean, American "black", Filipino, PR communities. etc. "white" viewership has plummeted because their isn't any successful "white" American stars. Lets be honestComment

yep, not gonna be much success if their is a lack of interest....for example, my team would be the only team with all "black" wrestlers in high school, whenever we went to tournaments or dual matches. My first year was also the first time, our entire team went to state. We endured some pretty crappy receptions outside of our hometown but their is very little interest in wrestling in the average deeply melanated communityComment
