Comments Thread For: Hearn Fires Back at Canelo: Brook is Doing What You Won't Do!

Eddie Hearn, promoter of IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs), has fired back at Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs). In a recent interview, Canelo blasted the upcoming fight between Brook and middleweight king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Canelo's own opponent Liam Smith said that Canelo is ducking GGG! Canelo must have no shame. How long can he withstand this embarrassment!?

On behalf of all Mexicans, Canelo does not represent us either. That fphucker is fighting to defend his cowardice not his heritage.

I dont think ive seen this much unity in the boxing community over a duck before.

Normally there are extenuating circumstances and contexts that make the duck acceptable in some peoples eyes, but really Canelo is getting slaughtered day in day out by pretty much everyone in boxing who comments on it

The comments after the Cotto fight (and more since then) just made the whole situation a million times worse for the guy

Hearn shouldn't talk! What happened to Eubank Jr.? Isn't that "your guy?" Why has Brook's negotiations with Bradley, Rios, and Vargas, all failed? You get Brook Frankie Gavin, Jo Jo Dan, and Kevin Bizier, then you throw him in with GGG? That's piss-poor management!

Canelo doesn't run the show, Oscar does! Oscar doesn't want to risk his cash cow just yet! He'll ease him into 160, maybe two fights and then GGG. The only way Oscar's plans backfire is if the PPV with Smith is a flop, or if Canelo loses to someone in the near future.

Oscar advised Canelo that he shouldn't fight Trout or Lara but Canelo insisted that he wanted to. Suddenly now Canelo doesn't have the power to say he wants the fight and that it's all Oscar. If Canelo really wanted it, he could do as he did with Trout and Lara and say **** it, I'll fight Golovkin.

"Is Brook being sacrificed? No doubt about it. We all know what’s going to happen in the fight, I’m not too interested in the fight itself but he’s going to knock Brook out."

Replace Brook's name with Khan and suddenly Alvarez is okay with welterweights getting sacrificed to middleweights.
