PBC on Spike draws 507,000

PBC on Spike TV Saturday night drew 507,000 viewers according to Nielsen sources. The ratings reflect a slight decrease in viewership from last month.
The event featured Robert Guererro as he faced David Perralta. It was Perralta that came out on top with a split decision victory.
The card, which aired from 9-12:10am ET, drew 196,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo per Sports TV Ratings.

Boxing is so ****ed. This sport needs major surgery and it doesn't look like anybody is taking the future seriously. As much as people say they lament the 90's scene, it at least was a power player in mainstream sports. I just read that McClellan vs Benn was like 17million viewers on cable television. Now, breaking a million is a major task. Even with a major "super fight" miraculously put together against all odds of both guys probably pulling out, the numbers still aren't there (Broner vs Porter, Garcia vs Peterson, Thurman vs Porter). If the crop of today's fighters are serious, then they are going to have to put the sport on their back and compete and produce major entertainment. The strong will survive while the weak will be defeated accordingly. The constant flow of boxing right now is a ponzi scheme designed to protect mediocre fighters at the top and cement their place by not competing like a champion should. Its all smoke and mirrors now, we are supposed to believe a shot Malignaggi is a legit contender for undefeated "superstars) like Garcia
