I am pretty sure that most of the people complaining that this fight Canelo-Smith will be a total bomb, audience and revenue-wise, are American people. But this fight is really big in the UK, I can assure you that. Every bit the same as the Santa Cruz vs. Frampton fight recently was, and also the Canelo vs. Khan bout was as well. All of these fights did and will attract tons of Britons and Mexican-Americans, as well as many unbiased Americans without any English or Mexican heritage, who are true boxing fans.
One thing has to be mentioned: The UK has its own big boxing Channel, Box Nation UK, which is ALL ABOUT boxing and is syndicated everywhere in the world. I ask you American people, can you tell me about a similar international boxing channel based in the United States, broadcasting ONLY BOXING 24/7, 365 days of the year? You have the right to say "I" am not the least bit interested in this Canelo fight, but please don't you dare make up generalizations about most people in the world not caring about it at all. We'll see which one does better, audience and revenue-wise, after both GGG-Brook and Canelo-Smith fights are over. And please take into account that both GGG and Brook are well-known, audience-friendly and undefeated fighters, so this fight is supposed to attract more people than Canelo-Smith, because the latter has only one big star in it, since Smith is well-regarded in the UK only, but almost a complete unknown on the other side of the pond.
Time will tell. But again, American people, please do not make generalizations, you can always speak for yourself, but not try and make people believe that nobody is interested in that fight, because that's absolutely not true.Last edited by sterilizer; 09-01-2016, 05:09 AM.
