Mexican-American boxers typically get a lot of support but they don't seem to support Vargas for some reason.

Although if I had to guess I'd say it's because of his rather boring style. The issue is that Mex-American fighters, even the ones who do get support from Mexicans, don't seem to get any from any other Americans. African Americans don't seem to respect Mexican fighters because they think they lack defense and "style". And white Americans are too busy slurping off Mayweather, Ward, BHOP and so on. Or they're on the opposing end and only support GGG, Kovalev, Wlad, Fury, etc.
