    PBC/Showtime fall schedule?

Any reason why the PBC/Showtime fall schedule hasn't been released yet? Are they waiting to make a huge announcement and give us everything all at once? Is it Pacquiao-Vargas?

HBO has it's schedule out to late November.

PBC/Showtime has a bunch of fights that are basically unofficial and haven't formerly been announced yet.
    Garcia-Berto
    Charlo-Williams
    Cuellar-Mares
    Zlaticanin-Garcia
    Sosa-Davis
    DeGale-Jack
    McDonnell-Warren

Only Anthony Joshua, November 26 on Showtime is the only thing we know. And he has no opponent.

Only Anthony Joshua, November 26 on Showtime is the only thing we know. And he has no opponent.

Danny Garcia’s fall return is rumored to be on Oct. 15 at Staples Center against Andre Berto on Showtime; however, both sides have yet to close on a deal and remain in closed-door discussions. “As far as I know, Danny Garcia’s opponent is not yet set,” Espinoza said in an email to ******.com on Thursday. “I’m told that Garcia-Berto is being considered, but that other fights are being considered as well.” It’s not clear who else Garcia is considering for the fall.

Then, there is the second fight of Mikey Garcia’s long-awaited comeback, also rumored to be on Oct. 15 at Staples. While lightweight titleholder Dejan Zlaticanin has already tweeted it’s a done-deal he’s fighting Garcia on the date, Espinoza has yet to receive official word the fight has been made. Thus, the date remains up in the air, even if both fighters appear to want the match.

“As for Mikey Garcia, I think that the rumored title fight against Dejan Zlaticanin is a very attractive fight — a tough matchup for both guys,” he said. “Both guys seem to be interested in the fight, but I have not yet heard that the fight has been made, much less a date.”

The same goes for the highly anticipated Oct. 1 junior middleweight title fight between champion Jermall Charlo and mandatory challenger Julian Williams. “The PBC hasn’t decided where to put Charlo-Williams,” Espinoza said. “Whenever and wherever those two fights lands, they’re two of the fights I’m most looking forward to this fall,” he said referring to Garcia-Zlaticanin and Charlo-Williams.

The proposed Oct. 15 date at Staples is shaping up to be a compelling card with Garcia-Berto, Garcia- Zlaticanin, and possibly even Abner Mares against Jesus Cuellar — yet another intriguing match-up. However, officials are trying to determine if all those fights on the same card are feasible and if it makes more sense to split it up into two shows.

Not to be forgotten, heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua has a Nov. 26 date for his next defense. Promoter Eddie Hearn is still working out the particulars for the venue and opponent. Showtime recently signed Joshua to a multi-fight deal in May and is waiting for progress to be made on the fight before it starts to plan how it will handle it. “Eddie Hearn told me that there are still some details being ironed out with respect to the fight,” Espinoza said. “So we’re awaiting the fight to be set to start making arrangements for our coverage.”

So in closing, a number of delicious match-ups seem far along in discussions, and fans (and media members) will have to wait a little longer for official announcements (and travel plans) to be made. “Basically, the fourth quarter boxing calendar,” Espinoza said, “is a big game of musical chairs rights now.”

I really just think they're gonna announce a bunch of dates all at once or either waiting on Pacquiao-Vargas.
