Whoever loses, do you look at them as overrated, not good, etc? 2 of the best fighters out right now and one has to lose. Will one of them get credit either way for losing to a great fighter or will one be looked at as trash?
Ward and Kovalev

It depends on the fashion they lose in. I think ward has the ability to make kovalev come out of it looking overrated more than the other way around. We already know what ward has...there's still a few question marks with kovalev, especially after his last fight. -
Depends HOW they lose. If Kovalev loses badly, his whole record starts to come into question. I think he'll still be recognized as a clear #2 @ 175 though and won't be entirely panned.
Though Ward has already proven himself at 168, if he lost badly here a lot of people would say he's way past prime. Can't really take away what he did at 168 no matter what happens now.
If they lose competitively, no shame at all. Trolls here will try to spin it but really, how many top guys are doing what they're doing? Not GGG, Canelo, Garcia, Frampton (who ran from Rigo), Joshua, etc, etc.Comment

It depends on how the fight plays out, tbh.
Andre Ward has been in there with enough legit top fighter and shown his ability that, win or lose, the outcome of the fight won't hit him that hard.
Kovalev's got a resume coming together, but his ability is nowhere near as clearly established (an old Bernard Hopkins...).
If the fight happens, and Ward drops Kovalev twice on the way to an 11-1 wipeout win, Kovalev's actual skill level gets the immediate look over (could Kovalev have even beaten Hopkins from 5 years ago, where he was old but still had legs?)Comment
