Who has better ring iq, footwork, punch selection, form, balance, defense, head movement, accuracy, counter punching ability, you know, skills.

I think Golovkin is better at pretty much everything, better jab, counter-punching, ring IQ, defence etc. He's also a lot more sturdy imo, I don't think Kovalev is particularly durable.

Offensively, Golovkin knows how to apply real pressure, cut the ring off, also he mixes his punches up a lot more, whereas Kova is more textbook.

Defensively, Golovkin slips, catches and counters, Kovalev's defence is a lot more basic.

I rate Kovalev very highly, but I consider Golovkin to be clearly superior.

I'd say Golovkin is more skilled.

I'll say Golovkin. I think he's more technical than Sergey

So who is it, Golovkin or Kovalev?
Golovkin has better punch variety, better defence from straight punches, better chin. Kovalev is lighter on his feet, he is more relaxed, he better throws combinations and better defends from combinations.

                  The answer is pretty obvious.
You want a choice so badly then I choose GGG as the better fighter between these two excellent fighters. GGG has never been knocked down and he has never come close to losing a fight. He has never lost more than two rounds of any fight. He loses even few rounds per fight than Mayweather did.

For me it's clearly Golovkin but both of them are very skilled.

Not sure when exactly it was, I believe after the Pascal2 fight, or sometimes thereabout, Kovalev himself said that Golovkin has more skills, more ways to beat you. (I think they were talking about Ward). So I'll take Kovalevs word for it and say Golovkin

                      http://www.************.com/2016/03/...at-andre-ward/

Or we can take Darnell Boones word for it

The great thing about a boxing gym like trainer Abel Sanchez’s Summit in Big Bear is the surprise provided by the various stories of those performing their sweat labor.
