He's almost 35, has had a ton of pro fights, and had a pretty long amateur career.

He started as a pro too late, and toiled in germany for too long to become an undisputed ATG. Today's competition also leaves a lot to be desired. There are no real big names that will catapult him. Even if he becomes undisputed MW champ, then goes up and cleans SMW he still wont be an ATG.

He'll need to fight and beat 2/3 top5 guys at LHW to round off his legacy.

also in his own words, welterweight B level brook at 160 is his hardest fight yet in his career.

Which style is built for the long run. GGG's or Hopkins? Is Hopkins the norm or an outlier?

GGG is built to last a long time. 91% KO rate with 155 rounds in 35 fights. Thats roughly 4 and a half rounds a fight.

Hopkins fights went over 3 rounds longer.

So which guy do you think is built for the long haul? The one who ends fights nearly twice as fast as the other guy, or the guy who takes nearly twice as many rounds to get the win?

u missed the point......hopkins fought into his 50's.

he's a freak (not the norm) 98% of guys are done by the age of 38. do u think golovkin will be the 2% or the more likely 98%?

              have some sense.............

I don't see Golovkin fighting much past 40.

And why is BHops name being thrown around here, other than for longevities sake?

Golovkins best win to date is who, David fucking Lemieux?

Antawn Echols would have gave him the beats.

Fuck out of here with this shit.

Have ESPN name you one of the top 25 of the last 25 and you got to come up with stutter posts about David Lemieux or Martin fucking Murray on your CV.

                BRUH.

Like I said, what style is built for the long run? Father time is still undefeated. Hopkins style wasn't suited on physically overwhelming fighters. In 2-3 years when GGG can see the opening but can't pull the trigger as fast as he used to is he going to rely on his defense? His ability to slip punches? His ability to roll with the punches and take less damage? When the physical skills start to diminish what will his style be?

Still plenty of time to earn half dozen step aside fees. Golovkin may go into the history books yet.
