GGG is almost 35

He doesn't have a high mileage, isn't battleworn, takes care of himself all year round, etc. -- still has 2-3 prime years left. But we need to see real action after Brook, obviously.Comment

from a hall of fame prospective (fighters that achieve greatness) he's done absolutely nothing........actually canelo is way ahead in that race.
people are comfortable now because they can talk ****. but if he continues this way 5 years down the road he won't be anything........Comment

2 or 3 years is not that far off.......golovkins team is showing no signs of chasing greatness & his fans aren't getting on him about it. in fact their content with just trolling and talking ****.Comment

I don't think most people appreciate the difficult position GGG & K2 is in. They have been close to making a fight with two of the biggest active names in the game for a couple years (Cotto & now Canelo) only to be left at the altar. GGG is the top guy at 160, but all the guys who can legitimize his boxing legacy further don't wanna fight him cuz their isn't enough money to risk an L to him. Moving up has never really been a viable since guys opt out at some point during the talks or there is little appeal & $$$ in the case of a fight with Ward. Its easy to woulda shoulda coulda GGG & his team, but I can also see how K2 was confident HBO, who's almost always helped get big fights between HBO fighters made, would help close the deal on GGG vs Cotto or GGG vs Canelo at some point. With HBO's dwindling support to HBO Boxing one of the casualties is likely gonna end up being how good could GGG proven himself to be if he'd have gotten those fights with the Froch's, Canelo's, Cotto's, among others & even the Chavez Jr's who'd have given him more mainstream popularity sooner if it had been made.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 08-27-2016, 02:34 PM.Comment

He is still fighting very well. Each fighter ages at a different rate. Mayweather continued to beat everyone until he retired at 38. Maybe GGG can age as slowly as Mayweather and maybe not. The way he destroyed his last few opponents doesn't make me think he is much past prime. Oscar is praying he shows signs of deterioration do to aging so he can risk Canelo against him in late 2017.Comment
