I agree. But this isn't about comparison, it's about Canelo to push forward and not get complacent and feel entitled right now.

Inevitably, most star fighters are gonna build a sense of entitlement. Floyd and Manny had it. DLH had it before them. And etc, etc, etc. GGG has it now. As laughable as it is, Adrien Broner has a sense of entitlement. Its just how it is. All of the outrage comes when one of these entitled fighters does something that steps on the toes of a fighter we like more.

That's not the case here, there's not a fighter I like more than Canelo. But the right thing for him to do is fight GGG. Not, Liam Smith. Everybody knows that and it's unjustified to avoid the GGG fight. All roads led there, it's just the way it went. You can't drive off the road and create an unwarranted path.

I disagree that the "right thing" is to fight GGG. Whether people wanna accept it or not, Canelo has been fighting as a jr middleweight for most of his career. People can play dumb with the 155 thing. But the reality is, 155 is a helluva lot closer to the jr middleweight limit than it is to the middleweight limit. If you look at Canelo's resume, he's beaten three of the top six Ring magazine jr middleweights. And he's fighting another in Smith. He has ZERO wins over a top middleweight. I'm sorry, logic says he's a jr middleweight.

Where he messed up was joining Cotto in that foolishness with the WBC middleweight belt. He, along with Cotto, used boxing politrix to pick up a bogus belt. And by doing so, he pit himself in harm's way when ut came to fighting top middleweights, not only GGG. During the soap opera, GGG and all his fans claimed that the belt is what was important to them. So basically Canelo gave up the belt and returnes to his home division. Forget what he said in interiews. Because he said a lotta stuff that can be twisted to fit any argument. The fact is he gave up a belt he didn't deserve. And proceeded back to ruling over his home division. No hard done. It was basically like when Pacquiao beat Margarito for a bogus jr middleweight belt. Then handed it over amd when back to welterweight.
