That's a good fight if they can put it together. Barrera is basic enough, but he's a solid boxer and a good athlete. Beterbiev is a better boxer and a huge puncher at 175, but his feet are not good and there's scope for craftier fighters to take advantage of that.

Beterbiev would take it. I reckon he would be the sharper and stronger of the two in the pocket, and would have the tighter combinations when they exchange. Wouldn't be easy but Barrera would be outgunned in the end.

barrera followed by chilemba should be tell us some more about him
They tried Chilemba last year... He didn't want to hear about Beterbiev with nothing on the line and evidently asked for the moon.... That says a lot about the status of Artur in the LHW division...

sullivan is kinda slow... throws a lot of arm punches.. very deliberate head movements...

Beterbiev will win this fight but I don't think he ever reigns either. His style never ages very well.

and his team turned down chilemba in late 2014 iirc so that makes it 1-1

now that chilemba has no mandatory eliminators in his near future and another L on his record i'm sure he will be more amenable to facing beterbiev

i'm sure it can get made

i'm excited for it, they need to start building up beterbiev and getting him some primetime shots. The LHW division is one of the best in the game: kovalev, ward, stevenson, beterbiev, gzodzyk, pasal, fonfara, that kids who knocked him out and a bunch of other young up and comers

Yes i agree Beterbiev has poor defense and head movement but he has good offensive fundamentals and divine power, everybody has a gameplan till they get hit by Beterbiev. Just look at the guys upper body man, hes a freak of nature, aslong Beterbiev has a chin he should be fine.

He violated and battered Ezequiel Maderna who himself has a good chin and was never stopped before, he also lost a MD to Thomas Oostuizen who once was a top10 LHW and lost a pretty close fight to Edwin Rodriguez, so Maderna was atleast a tough journeyman type fighter, and Beterbiev just plowed thru him
              1) amatuer wins dont count and thats were the hype derives
              2) he hasnt defeated anyone to indicate he could beat the top guys at 175
              3) the guy is highly unproven and time and time again, hyped up fighters who fought no one of note get exposed when the level of opposition gets tougher and stays tougher
              4) i like to base predictions on what a fight HAS done and not shouldve couldve make believe assessments.
              5) All those muscles, do nothing for your chin, head shots, properly placed body shots...he has the look but lacks the substance(top wins), and he has technical things that need to be sewn up before i feel save saying he beats those guys

I get that... A 2014 fight would have been premature though... That would still be a better fight for Beterbiev for sure...

People underrate Barrera because Ward made him look bad.

                  Ward makes everyone look bad.

I underrate Barrera because he has shown nothing top 5 worthy so far.... Say what you want against Beterbiev opposition, he destroyed them fair and square... He's definitely a top dog while Gonzalez and Barrera never seemed to put up with the hype...

I rate his victory over Murat as highly as anything Beterbiev has done so far.
