For those on here who think Diaz is the Gatti of MMA, you're showing your ignorance. Diaz has losses after 10 years of fighting top tier guys. He was never protected, and always brought out the best of a fighter. He's only been KO'd once, and it was a perfect head kick (can you imagine how many humans' lights that would put out?)
Anyway, Diaz losses were ALL highly competitive, many could've gone either way, and he was NEVER granted a rematch.
Point is, Conor beat a tough mother****er, and undoubtedly a top tier mixed martial artist.
I love watching competitive matches in both sports, and no sure why this is an either/or thing.
Conor is speaking the truth. If Canelo were to go to 160, and fight GGG and get KOd after an otherwise dominant performance where he ran out of energy (entirely possible btw), he'd gain a lot of respect, and there'd inevitably be a rematch. If Canelo won the trilogy by decision in another war, then boxing would have a massive trilogy card to play for the world that could be massive.
But no. Boxers (pac, Floyd, Canelo, etc...) would rather protect their loss column, by fighting at catch weights.
If Canelo can make 154, then so be it. GGG and his fans can ***** all they want. But he can't make that weight anymore, so move up. It's really that simple.

Conor dominated the 10-year reigning champion of one dividion, moved up to challenge the reigning champion of the next division up, who pulls out last-minute with a broken foot, so he takes on a tenured, top-tier veteran.
He lost. They ran it back with both having full camps, and he edged out a decision in a war.
So yeah, he can **** all over Canelo in the fight game 'til he moves up a division.
Very true about Nate but to have fought Mayweather, Cotto, Lara, and Trout who had beating Cotto before 25 I'll give nelo credit. Umm wasn't Connor killing himself to make 145 to feast on smaller fighters also. He was huge against everyone he fought. I do give him major props for taking the 2nd fight at 170 again. That's real **** their.

      Well that's just not true

Nate Diaz is a legit top contender who has beaten top guys in the UFC for years.

      Rosado is a journeyman.

Who cares what this classless Irish bum has to say. MMA clowns just never stop running their mouths about boxers, because 1- they are jealous that boxing is where the real money is and 2 - they wish they had the hands and skills of boxers. MMA is nothing but a more realistic version of professional wrestling. Who even watches MMA/UFC that is over the age of 30? I honestly do not know anyone other than teens, college kids, and some rednecks/military guys (90% white of course) that watch it. The demographic of the UFC is the same as baseball, nascar, etc. The UFC was cool way back when it started when it was style vs. style (kung fu vs karate, bjj vs judo, etc.). That was a really cool concept and entertaining. Now its garbage. Its just a bunch of wrestlers taking each other down and everyone trying to see who can be the most inked and up and look the toughest. Its only been around ~20-25 years and people are already tired of it. Conor has skills and can brawl but and? I have known lifetime losers who sit at bars all day who can brawl and are tough too. So what. At heart Conor is a bully and a coward, as you can see from how quickly he tapped when Nate had him in the 1st fight. That quick as lightning tap tells you a lot.

Oh and on the Canelo note, Canelo would decapitate Conor inside 1 round.

McGregor is just doing what he always has done.

If he talks 'trash' about Canelo, then he gets the attention of Canelo fans. If he can get them to dislike him and therefore tune into his fights hoping to see him lose..then that's his job done.

Rousey did it with Mayweather (probably with a Dana White promp) and McGregor did the same. It worked..just look at boxingscene. People who had never seen a Rousey/McGregor fight were tuning into their next fights and live posting about them on BoxingScene as they happened.

McGregor got the attention he wanted from Mayweather fans, now he wants some from Canelo fans. There is a reason he's talking about the well known boxers and not just run-of-the-mill boxers.

If he can get people to tune in and add to the PPV, he doesn't care if they are tuning in as fans or haters.
He knows what he's doing and to be fair, he's good at it. Almost everyone knows who he is these days, one way or another.

I mean he's not wrong regardless of your feelings about Conor or his motivations.

Since losing to Floyd 3 years ago Canelo has fought exclusively at 155 (til this next fight anyway) seemingly making it easy to avoid the best 154lbers & the best 160lbers cuz he's too big for 154 yet too small for 160. The only fights that looked competitive going in in the last 3 years is Erislandy Lara (split decision W) & Miguel Cotto (wide decision W) & some might even dispute Cotto as a fight that looked competitive going in.

Before folks turn it around in defense by saying what about Golovkin we are talking about Canelo and he's the one pointing at his own resume.
And he had at least one judge in his pocket no matter what happened in his three riskiest fights. Easier to take risks when you're the golden boy and you know the odds are hugely stacked in your favor, even when he fights the biggest star in the sport.

Bottom line is that Alvarez talked a lot of **** and then ran like a punk when it was time to live up to those words. I don't give a **** who he fought before, that was a punk move and I'm glad he's hearing about it.

I'm so tired of hearing these UFC bytches talking about boxers or the sport of boxing. Conor been talking shyt about floyd, canelo, ggg, manny and I don't even like all these fighters but I defend them in this regard. Phuk boy worry about your own sport. There is a reason you and that ugly overrated cvnt Rousey stay begging to fight boxers. And it's because in your sport you have no choice in who you fight no control over your career path and literally getting bent over and Azzz raped by Dana White and the UFC. I get it you see the money boxers are making and are jealous but your hate to boxers is misguided. Don't hate the player hate the game. Your beef should be with the UFC and why you phukers rolling around in spandex taking physical abuse but only getting peanuts. You want a real laugh go look at the fight purses for these UFC fighters. Hell you got prospects in boxing fighting in small venues getting paid more then so called world champs in UFC. At ever level a UFC fighter is paid peanuts to their counterpart at that same level in Boxing. That's why they always bitter talking shyt about boxing.

Boxingscene is going to shyt with all these UFC articles and spamming these messageboards with UFC news. We come here for news and to talk BOXING. If you are a fan of both sports cool I got no problem with that but there are numerous outlets that exist to find UFC news and talk UFC. Boxingscene selling out reporting on UFC. This forum is called "Non Stop Boxing" yet all this weekend it was filled with UFC talk. If Boxingscene wants to report on this junk then atleast create a new subforum called MMA talk.
