Comments Thread For: Roberto Duran's 'No Mas' Trunks Hit The Auction Block

DALLAS - The Hall of Fame boxer Roberto Duran is widely considered one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in history, but his most famous association was his shocking surrender to fellow ring legend Sugar Ray Leonard in a November 25, 1980 rematch at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.

He didn't say "No MAS", he said "No MAMES" to Leonard because Leonard kept copping a feel with his hugging tactics like in the following skit Gangsta Standoff by Key and Peele--->--->

I remember reading about the fight the following day. It was tough for me, as a fan of Roberto. I was just a kid. The following article was probably one of the many I read in dismay:

A testament to Duran's Greatness is the fact that he was shunned, even in Panama until he came back and won titles in 154 and 160!

Hagler and Duran went 15 rounds.....off course Tommy "HitMan" Hearns destroyed Duran but Hagler damaged The HitMan....now a days it is rare to see these type of quality fights.....the last one I recall oh well maybe I tell some other time ....I dont think any current middlewight could have dethroned Hagler back then, HitMan well his name says it all and Duran beat the stuffing out of the Blade who in turn had ko'd The HitMan...Sugar Ray did too much running vs Hagler...I had Hagler defeating Leonard because Leonard ran too much for my taste..all these gentlemen were warriors back in the 80's and they didn't know what duck meant....Duck was not in their vocabulary....I guess these type of fighters made me the Boxing Connoisseur that I am today.
