No. You lost every big shot you got. No fans have any confidence in you beating any of the top young guys, which takes all the interest and suspense out of those matchups. You got to fight the easiest one, Danny Garcia, and still lost.
After Jessie Vargas loses to Pacquiao, that is your fight. If you can beat Jessie Vargas decisively, then you deserve another shot at a Danny Garcia level guy, but not Danny Garcia because he needs to fight Thurman or Spence. But until you can actually beat someone on the level of Vargas, Provodnikov, Rios, fans have no interest in watching you challenge the top guys.
Actually, you know what fight Guerrero should take next? John Molina. That is the fight. The winner of that fight maybe deserves a higher profile fight. But not right now when neither has proven they can beat ANY top 5 guy in their division.
And Robert should really go back down to 140. He is too small for 147 so what's the point of watching him against Porter or Thurman or any of these guys? He is too small it's onesided. What did he lose 11 rounds vs Thurman? Come on that's not competitive. And same vs Floyd. He couldn't even hurt Danny Garcia either. So what else is there to watch? Go back down to 140, or bulk up, beat John Molina or Jessie Vargas, and prove there's actually a chance you could beat the top guys at 147. Then we will be interested in watching you challenge them again.
But not so long as it aint no challenge for them. I support Robert he seems like a good dude, but we want competitive fights, not to see someone who has no chance of winning, and lacks elite knockout power AND elite boxing to win on points. So how is he supposed to win when he can't hurt these guys, and when he doesn't have elite speed to win on points? It's not competitive.
I have a feeling if win he will be rank higher than Felix Diaz who beat Sammy Vasquez that was in that WBC tournament that everybody forgot about even the WBC
This fight with Peralta may be a tough fight for Ghost at this point in his career. Guerrero doesn't have the best defense in the world and he throws out the skills he displayed in the lower weights far too frequently for trench warfare. If Ghost doesn't make easy work of this guy then he's past it. He's taken punishment even in his wins at WW. He's entertaining and has heart but he just can't punch hard enough for the style he employs at this weight. Throw him in there with Omar Figueroa. Those two would just fight each other in the trenches all fight long. He might actually be able to beat Fig. He might even be able to beat a Sammy Vasquez as well. Line up those kinds of fights and Ghost might have one more run in him. He has to be navigated just right at this point.
hope guerrero wins big and same with angulo. Both guys can used to hype younger talented fighters and be step ups for other young fighters in the division
