As I've gotten older and wiser I've learned not to ride with anyone that don't take care of their kids. He posted his bail which was an odd number so that's probably what he owes in child support.

Figured someone would ask....Ill try and make this quick for you buddy...Your monthly check does not get passed in it's entirety because they take a small "fee" out of each check..That's how they make money..Being married only means you will pay alimoney on top of child support if the marriage fails..

My kids mom took me down child support despite the fact my two kids live with me 4 days a week, and during the very first hearing, the judge asked her would she like "arrears"...Arrears is a debt piled up after you missed months of payments and then you are arrested and have to answer to the court......The judge saw my check and decided my "arrears" would be set at $3,000...You see, it's impossible to be in "arrears" on the same day the child support is set because it there was no payments set up for me to miss!! After I yelled at the judge about this being unfair and probably not even legal he decided to drop it down to "1,000 and thats the lowest I'll go"....I had to pay a lawyer 5,000 AND "settle the arrears" before the court would even acknowledge the fact that my kids live with me as the primary parent...All in all the judge and lawyer extorted me for $6,000 just to acknowledge something my kids mom even admitted to them...I now pay her $700 a month but she only gets $640 because they take a "fee" out of each check. If i couldn't afford that bloodsucking lawyer, I'd have thousands of dollars of debt that never existed hanging over my head...Trust me C.S has nothing to do with you taking or not taking care of a child....

Yeah, I guess it's different depending on what State you reside in. They've been taking child support from me since April 1st and we aren't even divorced yet. It was filed January 25th and i haven't even got a court date yet. I'm not complaining about the amount too much because it could be worse, but nobody consulted with me. Had they spoke with me, Maybe they could of took in consideration that I pay the same exact amount in our daughter's college fund account. I have it come directly out of my check and deposited in my daughters Certificate of Deposit account. Plus I don't have access to the account, by choice because when times get tough, I didn't want to be tempted to go into her account. So I feel like that should be considered as child support and I will be bringing that up, whenever we go to court. The reason it started in April is because that's when I moved out, however; we have split custody, so she's with her mom one week and with me the next. Its crazy to pay child support when you have split custody and you spend more money on your child when they are with you. I take her somewhere all the time, pay for her dance class, go to all of her swim and track meets, while her mom claims she can't afford to pay for her dance classes or take her places and for some reason, always seems to forget about her swim and track meets. I'm not sure about the fees, I'm sure there are some fees that the government receives, but what I do know is that it is designed for the woman to succeed. I know a guy who was married and his wife left him and moved in with another man and was able to take him for everything. Because she doesn't work, she got alimony (which is why I was lucky). She cheated and she got everything, except the house because she was the one who left. But with all the debt from their divorce, his home may not be all that affordable now. Now I don't know their situation. He could of been a drunk, abusive, cheater, etc. He doesn't seem to be that type. But if he is on the up and up, then it just makes it that much worse. I don't agree with prenups, but I understand them now. I have several rental properties that she always claimed she didn't want, but now she wants all the ones that are paid off. Marriage is a beautiful thing and having a child, whether during marriage or in wedlock, it's still a gift from God, but you have to be careful and take note of the changes in your mate and plan accordingly. I've been married 15 years and 18 months ago, I had no ideal I'd be going through this..... Thanks for letting me vent boxingscene.

how exactly does the gov make money on child support when the money gets passed through to the mother?

heres a tip. If you dont want to pay child support, dont nut in a female you dont intend on marrying. And certainly dont do that with multiple women.

Many individuals will profit from a child support case in front of a Judge unfortunately. A lot of the times a judge will award more money than just child support, medical, alimony, etc to where the husband/father is literally getting deducted a large amount from his paycheck to support the mother and the father.

And to your last point, a lot of states now, even if you have a cordial working relationship with your ex spouse and you have a child, a lot of states now are making the mother's take the father to court to claim any type of state benefits if they need it. So that ruins a lot of families/relationships, etc.

yea man when i was locked up i seen some fd up situations guys were in behind that mess. i had no idea it worked like that. it really is a messed up system i would spazz out on mofos
