...not sure where the shock is coming from.

The man's listed as being 6'3 (with a frame that looks like he's near 220lbs), doesn't seem to have had a ton of damage to his body, and isn't talking about fighting Klitschko or something.

he's going to show the process of getting ready to fight, likely take on some UK club-level pro fighter, and go on with the rest of his life.

As big of a farce as that fight was (and holy **** was it ever) Mickey at least had a boxing background to fall back on. I don't know that Idris does. Although Idris looks naturally in good shape in that photo posted. He seems like a guy who probably has lived a clean life and taken care of his body up to this point. Mickey was a drug addict and has clearly been on all sorts of "that there gear" for years.
