Abel Sanchez Interview - Gennady Golovkin was searching for someone to fight him for the middleweight title. Kell Brook was more than eager to step up for the challenge. Brook will move up two weight classes to face the fearsome Golovkin on Sept. 10 in a clash of unbeaten champions. The British fighter will have the hometown advantage at London's 02 Arena, but faces a formidable task against a fighter who is not only bigger but has stopped his last 22 opponents.

It's about time he isn't in his revenge minded mode during the interview. Usually he's always trying to protect GG from his critics. He finally kept it real. I am leaning towards Kov and I agree on how he thinks Kov might fight Ward. I don't agree with him when he thinks that Kov might make the fight boring. Good interview though.

The last part of the interview with this clown told me everything i needed to hear...

Better feat to dominate a bum, than to win a tough fight against a great fighter...

I agree with Abel. Kovalev will fight Ward the way he fought Hopkins. Use his long jab and pick his spots for power shots. Ward will try to get inside, and he will try to hurt Kovalev early to try to keep Kovalev off of him. I thought the Hopkins fight was very interesting and so will Ward v Kovalev.

            On belts and Ramirez
We'll move up to fight Ramirez then come back down to defend mandatories and try to get the WBO belt

            On belts and Ward

If Ward comes back down to 168 we'll fight him if GGG has all the belts at 160

Don't worry Abel. Ward isn't coming back down

Abel Sanchez has had champions in the past and is as experienced a trainer as there is today.
He is an intelligent man who made his money as a contractor not in boxing so money is not the main issue.
I like Abel giving credits to Mike for his excellence with developing kids and as a USA Team coach and how Broner has let Mike down to many times.

Everything he mentioned has validity and isn't it nice to not here one expletive
in an interview with a boxing personality, it is to me!

Quality man with the best intentions for his fighters.

Fighting Ward like Hopkins won't be the same results.....

I respect Sanchez boxing knowledge however Ward is much faster than a 50 year old Hopkins whose legs have been gone since 39 years old. Not to mention Ward hand speed and foot speed is greater than Kovalev so it's going to be much more difficult to control distance with a guy much faster than you are. Kov jab and length will present problems however Kov is a linear fighter and Ward won't be on that line to be hit.
