in the context of a conversation about the well roundedness of roberto duran they are! i know it hurts, but in addition to having historic tier skills duran had power that carried all the way to middleweight. that's a dimension your heroes just don't have! that doesn't mean they didn't accomplish the things they did. it just means that they're one dimensional when compared to a guy who could both box at an all time great level as well as punch.

      PBC is dying!
Somebody please check on Bigdunny. Might have killed himself since he can't use his default mode of frothy-mouthed 'PBS-ratings-slipping-per-fight-doe!!' rantings right now.

      • Those are great numbers. The real test is to come with the next broadcast and how well that show performs, sans Olympic lead ins. That will signal if this was a fluke occurrence due to the surrounding factors or not. Surely a knockout performance such as that will have all those 6 million viewers tune in again, at least that is what all us boxing fans want to believe. Could this have simply been a result of people recording the US Men's gold medal game, and extending the record time an additional hour to account for live sports?

Let's see if there is any staying power with the next installment.

They didnt have Duran's power so they are one dimensional?

            That doesnt make any sense...

Floyd and Whittaker can win fights based on their defense alone. Duran cant. Does that make him one dimensional then?
