Alexander was years ago, both fighters pulled out of that bout, just destined not to happen. Are you saying he's a good opponent now? because we're talking about now. Same for Rios, he just got knocked out. Not viable fights for 2016.

Bob blamed Brexit for Vargas not happening.

I was just correcting the record because you said Brook had problems fighting opponents. That's not true. Eddie had him protected while he waited on a Khan super fight. The only good opponent he's fought was because it was a mandatory and he couldn't pull out

He'll either remain at 160 or possibly try the 154 division (perhaps to try and get a fight with Canelo).
I agree. He should vacate and stop holding up progress in the welterweight division

          Yes.

I'd like to see Spence vs. Ponomarev. Too bad Ponomarev is with the old snake Arum, it may be difficult to make the fight.

That's really sidetracking into another argument.

I was talking about 2016, his next move...there was no viable opponent for a big fight. I can't imagine that changing once he loses to Golovkin.

He won't be good at 160, so he either moves to 154 or 147 again. Canelo & Cotto are at 154 if they are even interested after he gets hammered by Golovkin, but Khan is at 147.

But on topic, you want to see Spence get the vacant title fair enough.

Do you think this helps or hinders the likelihood of seeing him in a big fight against a top opponent? because I can see him sitting on it every bit as much as Brook did, at least with the mandatory situation they have to fight.

I think it helps him more than it hurts him. Garia's father and Thurman can't say Brook hasn't accomplish anything now.

Is Ponomarev full Top Rank or co-promoted? He allowed Victor Postol to fight on PBC

He'll go down to 154, after both Liam Smith and Kell Brook get put to sleep in September they'll fight each other

You meant Spence I assume. Once these guys win a title, they usually milk it for a while.

If Brook holds onto the belt, we might get a mandated Spence fight before next May.

If Spence wins the vacant title, we probably won't see him in a decent bout until late 2017 (if even then). I'd like to be wrong.

The mandatory situation, especially with the IBF, forces a good fight.

I'm not sure. He used to be promoted by someone else, but during the past year he's been fighting on Top Rank undercards.

I think Arum obtained promotional rights on him for his fight with Zewski. Before that I know he wasn't with Top Rank.

There's a chance he may fight on PBC, if Postol did.
