The amount of punches thrown and landed overall and how many his opposition threw and landed.

What exactly does that prove though? That might prove someone threw a lot and fought crappy fighters if they also had a high connect percentage. Big deal! I would venture to say that Whittaker is still better than Mayweather at this point. If Whittaker had a known name and good management like Mayweather has, none of his losses would be on his record. He would be basically undefeated apart from Trinidad. It's all speculation. You can't tell jack from compubox.

Look I can agree that it would take alot for Floyd to crack the top 10 ATG list and he would still have more to do in order to reach that status but you are GROSSELY overrating the old time fighters. It sickens me when users do this. The fighters of yesteryear are great and have accomplished wonderful things in this brutal sport but their status CAN BE REACHED, stop making that **** impossible because there is NO WAY that their levels of accomplishment cannot be attained by todays standards.

If he did all that he would prolly be 1, but I also think if he just beat Cotto, Margarito, Williams he would be at least the best boxer I have ever seen and I don't even like the dude!!!!

Nonsense...Floyd is a first ballot Hall of Famer. But what fighter has he beaten that even remotely compares to these ATG's? He hasn't even taken ont he best available opp in NEARLY FIVE YEARS. Get real.

Man, I LOVE FLOYD. Just like I loved Roy. But I wanna see my favorites take on and beat the best, not have to make excuses for them on message boards. What's wrong with y'all?

Who is making excuses for anyone? Look, you have to assess the ERA with a clear mind and use the FIGHTER OF THAT PARTICULAR ERA when decided said fighters status. Floyd doesn't ****ing have a Duran, Leonard, Hearns, or Hagler in his era. However, HE DOES have some top level fighters, elites of their division that he HAS BEATEN. He has more fighters to face and they may get their shot when the time comes. When you think your the best you aren't afraid of the challenge and he WILL take that challenge, bank on it.
