Robeisy Ramirez deserves Val Baker trophy

The guy had no byes, knocked off the #2 seed and beat the American hope rather easly.

I hope he gets it because imo no one else deserves it more than Ramirez.

He knocked off the third seed too. Shiva from India won the bronze at last year's worlds and should've been ranked # 3. Robeisy fought him in his first fight and outclassed him like he was a nobody.

He's a repeat gold medalist too. The only one so far to repeat the gold here.

Finally, he was a crazy underdog despite getting the Olympic medal in 2012. He made it to the Rio games in the very last Olympic Qualifier in Kazahstan, that was 2 months ago before the Olympics. So considering him having gone to all the qualifiers, participated in the World Series and having 5 fights to win his gold medal. And he fought guys like Akmadaliev and Yereliev for 5 rounds under WSB. The wear and tear on him both physically and mentally must've been something else.

You're right forgot Shiva had a lot if hype behind him as well yet Robeisy toyed with him.

His semifinal fight with Akmadaliev imo was Ramirez toughest fight even tho it was a 3-0 score that guy can punch and you could tel he wanted it but Robeisy is just so complete he can pick it up several levels.

Imo La Cruz deserves it, check out the thread i just made about the Cuban Gold medalists in rio

La Cruz was toying with the 2nd seed Adilbek Niyazymbetov in the final and Niyazymbetov is a better fighter and has more expierence then Shakur, La Cruz barely took a punch in the entire olympics and Ramirez didnt really dominate Shakur in the same fashion, i thought Ramirez was the clear winner but it was pretty close
