Even with the new tax rules or whatever regarding fight in NY? Works for me, NY is one of the few, real boxing states. Would hate to see fights dry up there.

From what I've seen Wilder is expected to be back in action by January. So Wilder could possibly defend his belt before Povetkin-Stiverne? Then the WBC is making a new belt? smh... same ole Povetkin. He decided to fight in Russia for his second place prize against Wach instead of manning up and fighting for the real title. Then he gets caught trying to cheat. Now he wants to reclaim his second place title? Is this a joke??? If Povetkin isn't going to fight until November or December, why are they even making another second place belt?

Also, have no problem with Povetkin being in an eliminator to regain his position of mandatory for Wilder, if Povetkin will actually fight him and not make more excuses to avoid the fight, but Stiverne??? Really? So we could really see Wilder's fourth title defense against the guy he embarrassed to get the title in the first place? No one wants to see Wilder-Stiverne II. No one. That is like wanting to see Mayweather-Berto II.

The WBC needs to tell Povetkin how much it will cost to have a fake title without having to fight the real titleholder. Everyone has their price. Povetkin has repeatedly shown he doesn't want to fulfill his mandatory status. Let him be like Jacobs the second place WBA "champ". Jacobs has his second place title and apparently has no obligation to fight G the real WBA champ.

Except for how amateur and clueless they handled the Magomed Abdulsalamov situation... The athletic commission, doctors, and all involved that night hold some responsibility in his current condition.

They wasted precious time - possibly up to an hour - by not immediately taking him away in an ambulance upon what they should have recognized as symptoms of a serious injury...

Mago had to flag down his own cab to get to the hospital.

I hope his family gets a huge settlement out of those incompetent, negligent crooks.

Good matchup! I still have not seen the Stiverne/Rossy fight but I would like to see the knockdown. Rossy is a good fighter & a tough matchup for any HW but I did expect him to drop Stiverne. Stiverne has always had stretches of inactivity under Don King but with his recent year off & his age I have to wonder if he is really a threat to beat Povetkin. Povetkin is no spring chicken himself so how will he deal with inactivity? I have to go with Povetkin on this one...

                    Good fight

Whether Povetkin has been cleared in your mind or not, the fact is that he ****ed up that fight between him and Wilder. I think he will be forced to fight Wilder here in the US if he wants to make that fight. Anyway, this fight is a nice lead in for a Wilder fight, for either guy really. Stiverne might not get that rematch even if he wins but he'll be back in mix. I've wanted to see this fight so i'mdown
