It was either this or Ward/Kovalev and HBO decided to go with Ward/Kovalev. I don't blame them, Pacquiao is on his way out and HBO needs to start investing on future stars to take his place. I guarantee you if Pacquiao was fighting Crawford, Danny Garcia, or Adrien Broner HBO would've been all over it.

I'm glad HBO passed on this, Arum only has himself to blame for making such a garbage fight.

Hopefully HBO stick to their new found principle of not buying **** fights.

When a fighter disputes one of Arum's contracts, he buries them (Rigo, Garcia) but when Arum doesn't get what he wants, it's breach of contract! How ironic! I hope HBO sues his pants off!

The Greedy, Pretentious *** didn't want to budge on the Nov. 5 date. Can't have another PPV two weeks before one of the most anticipated fights in the past few years.

There's no really wrong side here. It's NOT in HBO's best interest to host two ppvs in the same month and Pacquiao can't adjust his timeoff from Senate duties...this is just the way things played out. The HBO contract situation should be interesting if Pac continues to fight.

Vargas is an easy sell; English-speaking Mexican coming off an upset knockout victory...there's far worse situations to be in than that. I agree Crawford is the better, smarter fighter. But I'm not so keen on calling him the bigger puncher just yet. That's probably a topic for another day, but as it stands Vargas has knocked down/hurt the bigger men in his recent fights than has Crawford. At least in his recent performances Vargas has looked to have improved his punching technique.
