Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, says Froch had his chance to face GGG last year - and rather than fight he decided to retire. Golovkin was willing to face Froch at his weight of 168-pounds, and he was willing to travel over to the UK to give him the home field advantage.
"Carl, after posting pictures saying he was too big and too strong for Gennady - decided to retire. You can't force these guys to get in the ring with Gennady," Loeffler said.
