Now they'll move on to judging Canelo fights.

Unless the blatant robberies are overturned we are likely to see more robberies before this is all over.
Instead of stepping up and acting decisively AIBA waits UNTIL there there is an outcry about bad decisions.
Boxing cannot help itself.Comment

Who do they think they're fooling? It's not incomptence, it's corruption. AIBA is rotten to the core. Boxing Federations of certain countries (we know which ones) give AIBA money to secure at least a bronze medal (cf. Azerbaijan in London) and sometimes even a gold medal (more expensive).
AIBA executives are responsible for this mess. Referees and judges are AIBA employees, they do what they are told, like any other employee. They are part of this system, at the bottom of the scale and they can eventually be used as scapegoats if things get out of hand.
Edit: here's a very interesting article
Things haven't changed a bit since then. It may be even worse now.Last edited by Loque-san; 08-17-2016, 01:04 PM.Comment

I will say what I said when I brought this statement up in the other thread, what is AIBA's purpose if other people have to investigate corruption of their events. Are fighters and their teams supposed to spend their off time sleuthing for corruption in amateur boxing, and who is to say that sleuthing will even pay off if a group is unwilling to even look for corruption the slightest bit on their own~.
If a group says something like someone needs to bring us evidence of corruption it means at the very least they know what is going on but are turning a blind eye because of the benefits if not totally complicit in the corruption.Comment
