  • Comments Thread For: Shabranskyy Open To Facing Kovalev-Ward Winner, Stevenson

Unbeaten light heavyweight contender Slava Shabranskyy (16-0) just finished up his training camp for his August 19th stay busy fight against Oscar Riojas (10-5-1). The fight headlines a card taking place at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles and will be televised live on Estrella TV.

They really need to put Shabranskyy in a big fight as the co-main for Alvarez/Smith. Unfortunately there's a line for WBC champ Stevenson. Eleider Alvarez is the mando, and Gvozdyk is fighting Joe Smith for the next eliminator.

Maybe Shabranskyy vs Sean Monaghan? Chilemba would be an excellent test for him.

He already ducked Ward and hasn't tried to fight anyone to make a name for himself at 175. The winner of this fight should move onto bigger and better fights at 175. This guy is playing games

Slava and Golden Boy should be realistic and fight Sullivan Barrera or Jean Pascal next.

Either would be a great test and indicator of where Slava belongs in a division that's getting better.

He never ducked Ward, he just didn't want the tiny $30,000 payday Brand received to fight ward in his hometown with a crooked referee.

            I agree.

Barrera, Chilemba, or Pascal would be okay as opponents for this fall.

Why not Shabranskyy-Barrera on the Ward-Kovalev PPV card? Golden Boy gets along with Main Events, it's possible to make.

Slava was one punch away from getting KTFO by a 31 y/o bum with 8 fights(Paul Parker)that was supposed to make him look good.

His chin is pure D glass.

Hell of an idea. But if the rumors are true that Luis Ortiz is leaving Golden Boy for Roc Nation, I'm not sure either side would allow that.

Alternative if Lemeiux vs Stevens gets finalized Slava vs Barrera would be a strong co main event.

Why does that matter? He got caught, survived, and came back to take the guy out. Move on. Not to mention he beat Gonzalez with ease compared to Pascal. Slava needs to make a major step up in competition after this fight.

                    Past don't matter.
