Comments Thread For: Conlan Still Raging: Rotten AIBA is Killing People's Lifelong Work!

Michael Conlan is still reeling from his contentious decision loss to Russia's Vladimir Nikitin in the 56kg quarter-finals. Conlan was seen as a close but clear winner by many at ringside and those watching the Games live on TV only for the three judges to award his opponent the win, a decision that enraged the Irishman and prompted a live TV tirade in which he accused the AIBA of cheating him out of a victory.

Conlan, that Kazakh...it has been a pretty poor tournament for judging and it was just as bad in London. The Brazilian guy who just won got all 3 rounds on the cards but he definitely didn't win the last one.

A lot of fighters are facing an up hill battle even before they step in the ring with the pay outs that seem to be going on behind the scenes.

it's true AIBA is corrupt as ****. Horrible judging in the olympics. The fake BS they made about no head gear being safer... if that was the case why did they not remove womens headgear? Do they not deserve "safety" like the men? They also pretty much disbanded the largest amateur boxing tournament in the world, Ringside in Kansas City

How much more of this story are you going to keep repeating.

How about using this space to shine a little light on the other fighters that were also robbed!!
Im sure Conlan is not the only fighter coming away feeling the way he is feeling.

If there is one thing certain about boxing, professional and "amateur" it is that there will be controversial decisions and downright blatant robberies.

How about doing a report on the judging and calling out the judges that are involved in the most controversial decisions and what countries benefit from it the most.

That may be more useful than coming out with a "new" story every time about how Conlan is feeling.

AIBA trying to bring in pros & amateurs beating the pros, but saying f#ck AIBA lol. If there is a amateur exodus from the Olympics & the pros prepare for a 3 round fight like they did this time I might be fighting in the 2020 Olympics looool. NSB's first gold medal right mfers!!!

You are so right. I've seen a couple of really bad calls, I think there have been more. Like roaches, if you see one there's an infestation. Conlan is a lightning rod, other fighters just got the shaft.

Amateur boxing (AIBA) and wrestling (UWW) are the most corrupt organizations. You should have seen how Migran Arutyunyan (ARM) (Greco-roman wrestler) was robbed of the Olympic Gold Medal simply because the guy he was wrestling against was Serbian and the president of UWW, Nenad Lalović, is also Serbian.
Boxing and Wrestling should both be dropped from the Olympics with their garbage officials
