Train all your life for this moment, hours of pain, don't do a lot of things that your friends might do, just for love for the sport, be dominant and still be robbed, in the heat of the moment he could say all that and more.

If he would have punched one of the judges in the face I would have understood. Wrong and he would have to be punished for that but I would still understand.

The same guy who robbed Jones, Park Si Hun, robbed Vincenzo Niardello, and he started screaming at the judges, still i believe he reacted well.

but how can you score it properly if you don't see if punch has landed or not? I bet that 90% who cries "robbery" have no idea about true punch stats in this fight.

I had it 3-0 for Conlan. If somebody wants to call it 2-1 for Conlan I won't argue but ALL three judges giving that first round to the Russian -- give me a fucking break.

the controversy is the first rd. ive watched this twice and i just cant see Vlad winning that first rd. Conlan controlled, out punched, out landed and out boxed Vlads ears off for about the first min and a half. Vlad started coming bacc for a good 30 secs and i even thought he might end up stealing the rd but conlan finished it making the russian miss alot. Im trying my best to be subjective here. 3rd rd i thought the russian won. but the fight shouldve been over by then

According to AIBA "Since the beginning of the Olympic Games, Aiba has conducted 239 bouts. The Commission has reviewed all decisions and determined that less than a handful were not at the level expected.
The concerned referees and judges will no longer officiate at Rio 2016. The result of all the bouts will stand. With regard to corruption ... we welcome all parties to come forward and provide evidence in order to take appropriate and immediate action."

What the hell is AIBA for if other parties have to investigate for them, are fighters and their teams supposed to sleuth for corruption. I thought it was odd when the WBC was doing something like that in regard to a certain doping case but I guess it is standard practice in all levels of boxing.

Truth. Expecting a fighter and his team to provide evidence of corruption is absolutely ridiculous. Asinine policy and statement by the AIBA. Difficult enough to prove corruption, even with ample resources. Some poor amateur athlete is supposed to contract professionals to investigate a corrupt act? Patheticly laughable. It's not even necessary to prove corruption in many cases. There are results so egregious that only two possibilities exist: incompetence or corruption. In either case, the involved officials should be banned and their decision reversed or annulled, as the case may be.
