Ortiz got some caribe like promoters who just screwed ortiz out of a big exposure fight on the undercard of canelo ppv. Now he will have to travel on the road and isn't getting a big payday and probably nobody will see the fight live.
nice excuse! Oscarina and golden girl are always stealing fighters so why would this stop those crook crackheads!

Luis Ortiz will give up his title shot. No way he goes to Russia for his share of 600k. I have this hunch that Shaefer is behind this move. I think he's learned silence from working with Al Haymon and he's been too quiet of late. Especially for someone who is about to start his own promotional outfit. I wouldn't be surprised if he's orchestrating this buyout to stick it to Oscar.

Will they try to make the fight in London (since Warren is Ustinov's promoter) or in Russia?

I can't imagine Luis Ortiz being brave enough to fight overseas.

What excuse both promoters Ustinov and Golden Boy agreed to terms what months ago to AVOID purse bids. Golden Boy was going to pay more money then this for the fight. Dade were upset with the money and pulled Ortiz off the fight. That's why it went to purse bid nobody bid so now he is going to make less money and be forced to fight in Russia. Hell we don't even know if the fight will actually happen. It wouldn't shock me if Ortiz pulls out and vacates his WBA standing. Either way them not bidding had nothing to do with money only an idiot bids on a fight when the fighter just pulled out that same fight.

If you too butt hurt upset with Oscar to understand what's going on that's your problem. You clearly just have an agenda with Golden Boy but saying they are broke that's why they didn't bid when the article tells you they are in a dispute with Ortiz's promoter is just plain dumb

The guy left Cuba on a boat to Mexico and had to sneak across the American border. But he's afraid to fight overseas? You people say some ****** ****.

I don't know I thought the same thing when Rigo and his idiot promoters were beefing with Top Rank. I thought for sure as soon as he was cut loose he was signing with Haymon. And that never happened because Haymon didn't want the headache of dealing with Caribe and their meddling. Dade Promotions seem to have a hold on Ortiz so if he get's out of golden boy that same dynamic will be there. As long as they are involved Ortiz is going nowhere. It's something with these cuban fighters signing with shady small time promoters who don't know shyt about the business and make terrible decisions for their fighters. Look at Gamboa. SMH

Ortiz needs to take this fight, especially with the bozo show Dade Promotions is causing right now. He's too old to sit on the shelf and winning this fight puts him into position for a major fight with the Fury/Klitschko winner (thus the reason Dade Promotions is trying to make a power move right now).

You may be right. However I still don't think Ortiz is going to Russia for his share of 600k.

Gamboa was a bit different situation. He was actually with Top Rank, and doing pretty damn good. Then he followed the advice of many posters on this board (remember all the SMS takin ova!!! threads?) and signed with 50 cent, and its been downhill ever since......
