I know it's so weird!

Like every country, there are people who support/like their government and others that do not. Further, someone can certainly have problems with the government but still respect Fidel, it doesn't mean he co-signs every single policy and supports everything; this fighter was simply being patriotic, which is what the entire Olympics is about! Winning for your country.

I also don't see why this is even a headline. An Olympic athlete wins and thanks his leaders - shocking!!

Anyways, here's to Cuba and their fine Olympic boxing team. With their recent changes, it's possible a lot of these guys will turn pro in the future, legally and without defecting.

I dont know about mexican fighters and my favorite fighter and Number 1 pound for pound fighter is Lomachenko and your compatriot guillermo ducked him for sure ....Guillermo didn't wanna go up to featherweight to tangle with Loma but is chasing Frampton and all the Mexicans you mentioned at Feathweight..in my book all the cubans , puertoricans and all the Spanish speaking people from the Caribbean are Tropical Mexicans....now as for Lara he lost to Canelo....Lara promised to break Canelos face and really talked his way into a PPV fight and when it came time to lay it on the line he ran and the instance he stayed in the pocket 7th rd mind you....Canelo punched Lara and produced a cut from there on out Lara ballerinad his way around so no Lara sucks....by the way Lomachenko,GGG, Kovalev and Klitschko are my favorite fighters.. .Guaranteed Lara will never headline a ppv event again....Hit and not be hit; you can not hit who runs around like a coward or ducks ....eg Lara and Guillermo

Loma wouldn't fight rigondeaux when he became pro . He said " I'm not ready for rigo " , in an HBO fight .

Fidel is no donald trump, he was a soldier, fighting for a revolution against an unjust and illegitimate government. He fought alongside his comrades and imo has more principle and integrity than 100 men.
