Ill never understand why people dont like Teddy Atlas.

I was thinking as im watching the pbc card I recorded last night that it amazes me that people dont like Teddy. Were talking about a guy whose been fighting corruption, bad judging, dirty promoters/managers even when they are the ones running the fights on espn. I mean the guy says it like it is obviously sometimes that rubs people the wrong way when hes saying it like it is towards someones favorite fighter for example, but it just seems crazy that Teddy is not more beloved.

What other announcers go off on bad judging and call out the corruption like Teddy even to the detriment of ESPN at times? The others do it more as window dressing then move on. Ya we have all seen Teddy's antics over the years as a trainer and sometimes its over the top but I got news for you a lot of the great announcers/trainers and even boxers over the years were way over the top. Hes a character so what characters are great for the sport of boxing and always have been.

So I just wonder are peoples emotions so high and are we so hypocritical that when Teddy calls out Pac or Mayweather on their bs over the years and yes both should be called out or at least questioned for some of their **** or maybe some other beloved fighter with fan bases even when Atlas is right are we seriously going to hold that against him and hate him for it? When people tell it like it is and say exactly what their thinking obviously their not always going to be right and your not always going to like or agree with whats being said but its better then sugar coating everything. At least he says what he thinks and doesnt care what others think or what the promoter paying that weeks check thinks about it. More people in the sport should say what they are truly thinking.

I just have always had a lot of respect for Teddy and as a fan you can always count on him to fight for the fans in so many ways. For example last night he was asked about the usa amateur system and the olympics and instead of taking the easy road and saying its getting back on track we won a medal etc he tells it like it is and says its still a joke and calls out the corruption involved and the leaders involved and says we should be better which is the truth.

Maybe you guys can help me understand how the guy that gives the fans a real voice and also the fighters when we have no voice in times of bad judging or corruption how someone like that is hated by so many people. Even confronting judges at times. Someone who truly cares about the sport and the betterment of it, its not an act. A lot of which are GGG/pac man fans made that he called manny out for the drug testing stuff but recently I feel like its gone beyond that group I just dont get it. Maybe someone can explain it to me or give me another way to look at it cause I honestly dont get it. Seems like another example of fan boys taking their being a fan of a fighter too far

I like Teddy but sometimes he thinks he knows everything and takes stuff to far. He would talk about judging every single week.

Fortuna fought Franco to a draw and he didn't agree with the judges and goes on a minute long rant. The fight could have went either way and facebook fans were split on who won but he still goes into his long talk about corruption and politics which honestly got old after awhile.

thats fair but to be fair i think that shows how bad the judging was more so then anything bad about atlas. there was a period there on friday night fights where every single week there was a decision that was so bad that the corruption was obvious. i think thats more telling on how often the bad decisions were coming out more so then anything teddy did

Teddy is the worst boxing commentator and worst trainer of all time. And he's mentally unstable, he was put in a juvenile detention center for beating up his little sister. His brother Tommy murdered their grandmother.

In 2006, Teddy Atlas published his autobiography, Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son's Struggle to Become a Man. In the book, he revealed that he came close to murdering Lalonde. "When he made six million for Leonard, it tore me up," Atlas wrote. "It made me murderous." If Atlas had not been fired by Lalonde and he had trained him for the Leonard fight, he would've gotten 10% of his purse, $600,000.

Atlas described getting a gun and going to Lalonde's apartment building in New York. After getting buzzed into the building by another tenant, Atlas went to Lalonde's apartment and knocked on the door. "If he had opened the door, he was dead," Atlas wrote. "I would have pulled the trigger, turned around, and walked away." However, there was no answer.

Atlas waited through the night for Lalonde to return, periodically phoning the apartment. When he finally got through, Lalonde's girlfriend answered. When asked if Lalonde was home, she said yes. Atlas hung up and started making his way over to the apartment. Somewhere along the way, for whatever reason, Atlas changed his mind.

Lalonde knew nothing about it until the book came out and a friend told him about it. "It actually didn't surprise me when I heard it," he said. "Teddy got into fights with trainers and fighters quite a bit when I was with him. He may not be the most stable person walking around."

I like Teddy. I like people I can learn things from. What I don't like is the fact that sometimes he comes across as somebody who likes the sound of his own voice.

But I feel he's extremely knowledgeable about something I genuinely love, but am still fairly new to, so inevitably somewhat ignorant about.

Teddy is outspoken and stands for something, even if the stance is unpopular. those types are usually polarizing.

So, I like Teddy, but uh...when Pac Bradley 1 was over, he said this:

Then when Tim had a third shot against Manny, Teddy said this:

                  He's a hypemaster and a hypocrite.

I like him as a boxing voice, but facts are facts.
