Name the fighters that would retire instantly the moment they found out that boxing were to be ran like NBA/NFL, where the opponents are already picked out and you can't do anything about it.

    You can't price yourself out

You can't loophole yourself out via promoter/manager/network

You can't claim you're the A-side and choose their gloves or ring size

You can't force people up or down in weight; you will only fight those within your weight class

You can't choose the date or venue

No kid in his right mind would box. Max contracts and salary caps would limit the earnings potential of the fighters.

Not true, there are some warriors out there who take on everyone thrown in their direction.

What if the pay remained good? But they have to abide to everything else.

But that wouldn't make sense. I'll give you an example.

You said "you can't price yourself out"...so who negotiates pay for the fighters? You just want one dictator/slave master deciding on salaries?

You said "you can't choose the date or venue"...well, whoever is in charge of boxing would want to make the most money. So regardless, the A-side fighter will have a home town advantage because that's where the most tickets would be sold.

Floyd would be one who would refuse to get into that now!
Maybe If boxing was like that back then he'd just accept it but right now definitely not I also think If boxing was like that Floyd would most certainly have lost a few times by now.

Ward for venue for sure, Canelo for weight maneuvers, Cotto for A-side, Stevenson for network/hiding in the PBC, Mayweather would have been out of the game a long time ago.
