Comments Thread For: Pacquiao's Potential HBO PPV Departure, Mayweather II Influence

By Keith Idec - When Manny Pacquiao announced through a spokesperson earlier this week that he'll fight Jessie Vargas on November 5, most people that follow boxing closely weren't the least bit surprised. Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs) is much more beatable than Terence Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs), the other potential opponent promoter Bob Arum...

Even HBO Pay-Per-View held their nose in the air at this mess.

Stay retired if you are going to give us this crap....The Manny hype has fizzled out for quite a while...years now actually. You don't even hear his hardcore followers here praise him as much since he lost to Mayweather.

Pacquiao Vargas still 10 times as good as Mayweather Berto.

Crawford blew his chance by running a marathon instead of putting up a fight and actually throw punches.

I love Pac but he'll never leave HBO again.

He's loyal to Arum and HBO.

If they really wanted a Mayweather rematch they should have tried harder to get Danny Garcia. He's one of the few decent fights left for Floyd because he's undefeated. I'm not saying Garcia deserves 40million to fight Manny but they should have at least guaranteed him 10. It'd do closer to 1 million buys then 500,000 IMO. If it did 750,000k which I think it'd probably do better, it'd still make 45 million. 10 to Danny, 20 to Manny, and you still have 15 million left over.

If he beat Danny especially if he did it impressively could definitely give him a better shot to draw Floyd out for a 50th fight. Beating Vargas literally does nothing....I'm not saying Manny hasn't earned the right to fight who he wants at this stage of the game but if the ultimate goal is Mayweather, he should of fight Danny or Thurman. Eliminate the other top competition.

I actually want to see May-Pac II. The first fight was overdue anyway as a rematch would be, I don't see a great difference. There's that slight doubt still that Pac could in fact have done better under optimal circumstances. The draw, as I see it, would be Mayweather's 0 and yet another comeback. And greats are supposed to have rematches like these, so why not.

PAC's career will end with him longing for JMM and Mayweather rematch. PAC had quite a few rematches in his career with fighters, even if he won.
