they just preveiwed the new season and it looks like they did not change it one bit. From the preview it looks like it the sdame slow mo footage with those load ****s. I most likley be wrong and i hope so because the real fights would look better then the cut up footage

Changes I have confirmed.

No more challenges, no more children, it will be WelterWeights, More concentrating on actual training. Not sure of the un-edited fights and or length. Sly was busy making Rocky 6 so he was not in the stands with Ray Leonard. Sergio Mora took that spot. Sergio will also be on the show as a means of support/advizer/friend to the other fighters on the show. Yes there will be Italians on the show One whom you all know already but I cant tell you who it is. (Paulie the Italian kid that is fighting Cotto in June wanted to be on the second season but his team said no) Not sure how many black guys are going to be on the show lol I say this cus Ishe Smith said there was not enough blacks on season one. I heard the first couple of fights are great. I guess we will just have to tune in and see.

damn i was just gonna make a thread about the contender 2 but i was gonna bring up the new fighters i dont know if you guys are familliar with ebo elder but i think i caught a glimpse of him at the end if thats the case he should be able to breeze through the show.....

I dunno about breezing thru the show. Ebo is a great fighter, no doubt, I've seen him in person a few times and met him and is a great guy. But he is a lightweight making the jump to Welterweight. I dunno about the other guys on the show, but if they are natural welterweights, or even bigger guys dropping weight, then it shouldnt be a walkthrough.

Then again, Alfonso Gomez proved that theory wrong last season. I dunno about the rest of the cast, but right now, I'm rooting for Ebo.

i'm a big contender fan and hope they keep it just the way it was... there's are already plenty of regular boxing shows on TV, where you can see unedited fights... but there's nothing else like the contender... the contender's focus on drama and the fighters, which has made it wildly popular... i hope they dont change it

They had to make changes and they did. The main reason was because of the hard core boxing fans. The hard core boxing fans are the ones who made their opinion known and how they felt about the show. Look for more hardcore boxing fans to tune in this season fo' shizzle


I had no problem watching the Next Great Champ with host Oscar De La Hoya. Too bad it failed

ya your probly right about being a breeze i didnt even consider hes making the weight jump and now i know steve forbes is also gonna be on the show it should be a little bit tougher than i anticipated for him but he probly the most seasoned,as for rooting for him i will definatly ive liked him since the first time ive seen him fight hes a warrior,did you ever see him fight courtney burton?? great ****in fight.....

Taking the challenges away is a good idea. I think they should still show families though because it adds more drama to the fight.
