If they haven't agreed on a venue, the Garden should be in the discussion. Not so much Barclays but a major pound for pound showdown in the Mecca? Sick. Got a good eastern European population all around and plenty of knowledgable African-American fans. I just don't want this fight to fall apart because of the venue.

I can see why they would prefer New York, the gate and atmosphere would be a lot better

Unless you want to see Ward headbutt, hold and run all night his style is awful and largely the reason he has NO fan base! I'll be glad once Kovalev retires Ward permanently by brutal KO!

Has Oakland been discussed as a possible venue?

The biggest fight this year aint taking place in Oakland, the place is a shyt hole. You got a 1/59 chance of being murdered or have your ass ****d there, it's gonna be Vegas or NY.

I certainly hope so, my comment was a sarcastic one.

I hope it's in NYC. I'm going to be in Vegas the weekend before the fight, and I'll be pissed to have to leave the week of.

It doesn't make financial sense to move it from Vegas. Vegas is the fight capital of the world. More people will be attracted to fly to Vegas because of the entertainment scene. Plus, the income tax would severely limit either fighter's purse, limiting the take for either side. And for months the venue was announced to be Vegas. How come only now RocNation & Ward are complaining about it? If it's in Vegas, they can entice all the West Coast Ward fans to do that several hour drive to Vegas. The last time Ward fought outside of Oakland was in Jersey. So why is NY a destination? T-Mobile Arena is a brand new arena. And both could build their brands better through a fight in Vegas, where the biggest boxing careers are made. Plus, those who want to travel to watch this fight would spend less money in Vegas because NY is expensive. If you don't gamble in Vegas, you save a ton of money...not to mention all kinds of flight deals to Vegas. Vegas is the best choice. It feels like Ward's team is either making bad business decisions, or trying to find advantages that aren't there.
