  • While Pacquiao is under contract to HBO, Arum said the network will not be involved in producing and distributing the pay-per-view event, though he did not say which broadcaster would.

Arum and HBO have been knocking heads over the date. HBO is already contracted to put on the Nov. 19 pay-per-view showdown between unified light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward and does not want to put on two pay-per-view events in the same month. Arum, however, is insistent on Nov. 5 to accommodate Pacquiao's senate responsibilities and training schedule and because he wants the fight in Las Vegas and has an arena lined up.

Arum told ESPN.com that if HBO passed on doing the Pacquiao fight on pay-per-view, it would make Pacquiao a free agent, which would be difficult for HBO to allow. In spite of Pacquiao's falling pay-per-view numbers, there is still a possibility of a gargantuan fight next year -- a rematch with Mayweather. The network surely would not want to cede its share of the potential windfall entirely to rival Showtime/CBS, Mayweather's broadcast partner, with whom it put on a joint pay-per-view when they met last year. An HBO spokesman had no comment.

I guaranteed you he'll fight Bradley again if he continue to fight until 2017 and if TB hasn't retired yet. All Bradley has to do is fight and beat another top rank fighter or go get a new trainer and he'll get another shot at Pac. They'll just spin it that it's a new Bradley, etc.

This must be it. He needs to look good for a Floyd rematch. Vargas certainly will make him look good.
Took you a few pages, Spoon, but you finally came up with an excuse to justify this nonsense.

You've still go it, old friend.

Yea I don't see ho HBO can justify the manny ppv a week before ward Kov, assuming it goes as scheduled. Manny back on showtime would be funny

Yep pacquiao is the bigger name but ward/kovalev is the better fight.

If pacquiao goes back to showtime, they are going to hype his fight with vargas up for a mayweather rematch.

Not gonna happen. Jessie vargas is just like Brandon rios but a lot fresher. Pac is not stopping Vargas considering that Manny will be training entirely in the Philippines. This just goes to show the lack of motivation he has for this fight. I wouldn't even be surprise if pac loses. Guys like algieri were the one that Manny was suppose to ko. Pac just doesn't have that go for broke mentality anymore. If he can't put his opponent away then that's pretty much it. He doesn't give out that extra push anymore. He'll just cruise to a UD. Pac, in early days would go all out even if he looks like fool in the process.

I guess Max is only saying that to boost the views on ESPN right? Because when he talked good about pac, it was only because he worked for HBO...
