Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: Kovalev Fight is Leonard-Hearns All Over Again!
Former super middleweight king Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs) is expecting a classic encounter when he faces IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight king Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs).
Lol Ward working very hard on this Ppv promotion. It's all good, but you gotta keep it half believable. Fortunately his 3 tuneups didn't get many viewers so someone may bite
This doesn't have anything to do with the article... Are we all not grown ups with jobs here? My broke a s s can spring 70 bucks every 3 months or so for a ppv fight. I've never understood the people who seem almost proud to be cheap and won't buy a ppv fight. We all know this isn't going to Castillo-Corrales but it's the 2nd most intriguing matchup in the sport. Spend the money, and buy the fight. This isn't some bull**** top rank ppv Chavez Jr. fight. People denigrating the intrigue of this fight to justify their cheapness. Ward by boring decision.

Can't disagree there. Good fight but very unlikely to have action.

good points, green'd
I am a Ward guy who prefers the technical side of boxing, but I do understand why casual-fans don't wanna shell out $70 to watch a style they don't enjoy.
Like you said..... that fight will not be a war, it will be a boxing match..... and it will get ugly at times no question LMAO
I see their point, and I don't have a problem with it..... they just need to know their place is all

I can't afford to spend $70 for a fight, that's why I host fight parties. This is one of those fights were you throw a party. It's going to be a great fight. Anybody that calls a fight boring doesn't understand the art of boxing, it not always going to be guns blazing. Ward will not beat Kov that way, he has to take Kov out of his element. Make him swing and miss, counter, stay inside to nullify his power. This will be a technical fight.
First, he's a combination of Leonard, Mayweather, and Hopkins, and now thiis will be Hagler-Hearns all over again. Well since Ward is the one "moving up in weight", I'd have to assume that he is Hearns and will end up getting demolished by Kovalev. At least he knows how it will end.
