Ward is Delusional
Understand that Andre is just trying to promote the fight, but as someone who grew up watching Roy Jones in the 90's, his comparison is completely off base. RJJ was able to knock out tomato cans, Ward couldn't even make the fight against Brand interesting. People also need to remember that Roy beat both James Toney and B-Hop in their primes; won a title at heavyweight and then went back down to 175 and beat Tarver. Ward's victories over Froch and Chad Dawson don't even come close.
To be honest, he's really just another B-Hop type fighter. Never take any chances, win fights by decision and use every trick in the book to frustrate your opponent.Comment

Wrong. Weekly Shobox cards have had COUNTLESS 15-0 type fighters against 17-1 type fighters and COUNTLESS 8-0 type fighters going up against 12-0 fighters in countless numbers!! Prospects vs prospects. On top of that, many of those prospects vs prospects matches had a ton of fighters go on to become contenders, fought for a title, and tons became world champions! Where as late night Saturday telefutura and telemundio and boxeo cards along with FS1 cards with TopSkank and GoldenCrap have put countless 22-0 type fighters in with 16-7 type opponents who lost 5 of their last 7 fights!! HUGE difference!Last edited by richardt; 08-08-2016, 05:40 PM.Comment

He's no where near the same level of any of the 3, and his resume is a joke in comparison...never seen Jones, Hopkins or Mayweather fight cab drivers for 5 years of their career...his last decent fight was Froch, and he clinched the entire fight...
Probably the worst resume of any boxer considered lb for lb in history.Comment

Well, then you don't remember Roy's career very well, because cab drivers, part-time cops, and plenty other tomato can no-hopers is who he fought for years while rapping about how much of a bad-ass he was. Great athlete but his boxing skills pale in comparison to Ward's.Comment

Also, the way the interview is worded makes Ward out to look like a tool.
Check out the full interview on Seckback.
He was answering a leading question, they asked..... "what fighters in history do you most resemble style-wise"..... he answered, my style is Virgil Hunter with a little bit of Mayweather/Hopkins/Jones, because those are the guys who I watched and learnt from as a kid.
but, carry on the Ward-bash, it's all goodComment

Ward wasn't " warning " anyone LMAO
he replied to a leading question
And he said his style was Virgil Hunter, why didn't the article mention that ?

Look I'm a fan of his and he sometimes does things in the ring that I REALLY really enjoy but it gets far and in between at times. Ward, as good as he is, he isn't on the level of those three, I've heard some say he's better than Hopkins which is weird because Ward does nothing better than Hopkins.Comment
