Top light heavyweight contender Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs) would love to accomplish his dream of having a fight in the heavyweight division. One of Ward's idols, Roy Jones Jr., fought as a low as junior middleweight and climbed all the way up to heavyweight in 2003 to capture the WBA world title from John Ruiz. Jones was a unified champion at 175-pounds when he made the big jump to heavyweight.

The article here fails to tell you just when Ward made such a statement -- it was way back... sooon after that he also contemplated retirement from the sport...

Tough listening to max and jim trying to make that bout interesting, important and entertaining. Which it wasnt. It was a tune up plain and simple. Cant really take much away from it.

He's too small to be a heavyweight. You could even see how small he is standing next to Kovalev so this heavyweight dream will end in tears. Jones had power but Ward shouldn't even try cruiserweight.

The days of 205, 215 heighweights are long gone....if you're not aleast 6'2 then how can you compete.....and btw Roy Jones did have power against Ruiz....power and speed, so totally different from little ward
Man you know absolutely nothing of boxing, height means nothing in boxing. Ward beats most heavys right now.

See you're what they call a coward, Bob Foster fought Ali and Frazier and got knocked out. But he's still considered best 175 pounder ever.

Ward is a great boxer. He should get his due once he fights and beats rated boxers in a said division...

Ward does not deserve a shot at the Krusher but it's what the public wants. It's a payday for both...
Barrera was an undefeated Cuban who was the mandatory for the IBF 175 pound belt you moron. You don't know boxing.
