kovalev's fight atleast made sense, it was the closest guy he could get to ward stylistically, it helped him prepare for ward.

Ward's fight served zero purpose. A 40 year old 168 pounder who fights nothing like kovalev doesnt do anything for ward.

Yeah the fight itself served no purpose to Ward, but he got 1 more full training camp before Kovalev. In the last 1/3 of the fight he tried so hard to knock him out but he couldn't and it looked bad for Ward. It looks like he has no power to keep Kovalev off him, but I can still see him giving him trouble with his movement, quickness and body shots. I'm rooting for Kovalev to knock him out, but if Ward wins he deserves all the credit.

I think Killa Kov would have bodied (possibly in a literal fashion) Brand in 2 rounds, while Chilemba would have possibly defeated Ward.

Based on their last two fights, I have Killa Kov breaking Ward down with strafing jabs to the body and putting him down with a well-timed overhand right. Fight goes 9 rounds with Hunter stopping the fight in the corner to spare Ward further embarrassment and punishment.

Brand wasn't ranked inside the top 10 at 168, not even ranked at 175 AT ALL. Chilemba got ripped off against Alvarez and against Bellew in the rematch. I had him as an undefeated boxer heading into the Kovalev fight. Both of his fights with Bellew were in Bellew's backyard.

I'd say Kovalev. He wasn't as dominant as we're used to, but he was facing a fighter much better than Brand.

Ward of course...Ward had complete control over a terrified opponent. Kovalev seemed a little befuddled by Chilemba.

Ward vs Brand looked like a damn bum fight. Kovalev Chilemba was just a good competitive fight between some top guys. Kovalev looked much better.

Also the excuses that HBO were making for Ward, seriously, the *** was that? Terribly bias commentary.
