Pacquiao Vargas will be a lot better than Pacquiao Crawford would have been.
Vargas is gonna throw a ton of punches and bring it. Hes not gonna run all around the ring and not take chances and fight scared. Crawford will take the safe rd like he did with Postal. Not saying it will work against Manny but it will in fact make for a boring fight. Vargas will be more entertaining.
    1) Ward showed everything you said, plus he hit flush Brand -- but the poor bloke wasn't even in real trouble. I'm sure Ward will show much better vs Kovalev (in case he shows up).

    2) Don't you actually think Crawford is danger?

The question to ask is, how is Kov going to respond to not being able to land on a super slick technician? Not to mention, Ward DOES have enough power to keep his opponents honest. His shots may not be 1 punch KO power, but when he's landing steady streams of shots on Kov, I'd like to see how he responds.

I'd probably venture to say that if Kov doesn't KO Ward inside of 6-7, he's at risk of getting stopped in the late rounds.
Boone dropped Ward hard, and like I said, Ward is always tagged... every fight. It's a 2 way street in the ring with Kovalev and Ward. Anyone who thinks it's an easy fight for either is just being foolish.

I think people are overlooking this and just judging a potential match up based on the fact that Kova didn't look extraordinary in his last fight while Ward has been dominating guys who Kova would have probably KO'd inside of 4 rounds...

I think Kova is too strong for Ward's clinching, and I think Ward's chin is questionable..it'll be interesting to see what happens if and when Kova lands clean on Ward... I really think Ward only wins by boxing all 12 rounds and avoiding any exchanges... Ward has to become FMJ to win this fight and make it very boring...
Hard to judge anything off of it maybe you're right maybe you're wrong we will know when IF it happens, I certainly believe Ward is very hittable Brand didn't have a good IQ and he was clipping Ward enough times from what I've been told Ward wasn't that good especially against such a weak opponent.

One serious question about the last night fight: Before the 12th round, it looked to me that Ward was very upset and frustrated about something while Hunter was talking to him. I was very sleepy it was 6 in the morning here and couldn't understand very well what happened and what Hunter and Ward were saying. It really looked to me as he was very upset about something but I couldn't figure out what's happening, any explanation?

              2) But yeah. Ward and Kovalev both present each other's toughest test stylistically to each other. Kovalev's jab and Ward's frequency of initiating will be the main keys. The ref could play a MAJOR role too depending on if Ward comes in to clinch, tie up, and possibly lead with his head. The problem is Kovalev steps back WITH punches so who's going to dictate? This fight is too interesting in theory.
              1) Actually, Povetkin is cleared by now... and Wilder didn't show up and he doesn't provide any sign hat he will show up in the future vs Povetkin.

              2) Ward is athletic and fast, with great defensive skills -- he jumps in and out and dodges punches easily... People say he has a great chin... but I don't know if he also has "great" ears/temples or top of the head...

... this because Brand was supposed to be "wild"?

For some strange reason i think a Golovkin Ward fight would be more interesting.
Golovkin shoots more to the Body than Kova and can take any punches coming in.

Anyway, waiting to watch this great fight of two of the best fighters right now.
